Covid 19, Learn how to Take Control of Your Immune Health and Fight Back...

Vitamin D Deficiency
Remember when I was all about that BEFORE the pandemic?
And learned how important it was to your immune system, and important to NOT be deficient in Vit D3 to avoid WORSE outcomes with Covid19?

Here is some MORE proof, that also verifies what I said and my fears that recommendations were too low.
When I said " at least 40% of all Americans are Vitamin D deficient"?
Well, when adjusted to proper levels to get your internal hormone level to 50ng/ml , you can DOUBLE the deficient estimate to 70% of the WORLD, and up to 80% of Americans are vitamin D Deficient (levels below 50ng/ml, with 25ng/ml being VERY deficient.
We haven't been hearing about Vitamin D BARELY at all this pandemic, have we?
I remember looking for the information before yelling at the CDC and other orgs on social media, because you have to Fact Check everything or you will have a Troll infestation in your timelines...and I found the info, buried a few clicks deep, in a little bit obscure area, ... not sure I remember where, I KNOW it's there somewhere and still have a hard time finding it.. imagine a first time visitor who could really benefit from the information....
AHA! I found it again...
I will link AFTER the video, because I feel the video contain more update to date, scientifically backed and sound information and advice than the CDC (or other health orgs) which is sorely lacking!

CDC link to NIH version of Vit D info <-- sorely lacking

my issues are:
advises against too much Vit D, but the amount needed to get to toxicity would be more than 10,000 to 20,000 longterm on a daily or regular basis
You can take  60,000 once a week, or even daily for a short time, with no ill side effects.  Doctors routinely prescribe this amount for people found to have severely low vit D levels
your body when healthy and with enough sunlight and diet, produces 10,000 IU and then levels off if everything working correctly.  The daily IU is 400 IU ... which is ridiculous!  I may have seen 600 IU as well (2 years ago?) but these numbers should be doubled for the younger healthier folks, and up to 10,000 IU daily for those like me with poor health, NO SUN at all, and little to none D3 dietary intake.

The older you get, the less efficient your skin is at converting the UV rays to Vit D levels in your body
The darker your skin is, and the older you are, the more time you need in the sun to produce the same level of Vit D as you used to
Obesity makes you produce less and or more slowly from both sunlight AND from your diet (you absorb less), Same for Diabetes.
Vit D3 and D2 both work fine at lower levels (D2 is plant based) , but at higher levels, D3 is more efficient, more of it will be converted.  There is still some debate, but shouldn't be, as there are trials out there for a NUMBER Of years (meaning several over the past 10 years) that show this to be true.

I take a multivitamin with 1000 IU D3 (25mcg), and a combo D3 + K2 vitamin with 5000 IU D3 (125mcg) and 100mcg K2 as MK-7 - Daily, longterm, no (known) issues.
Vitamin K2 is important because it REGULATES the Calcium Levels and Location in your system, helping it to go to teeth and bones and other good places, and keeping it OUT of your arteries and other organs where you don't want excess calcium!
We used to get K2 from our "grass fed" beef (or other livestock/fowl) via the sun, through plant photosynthesis to the animal and then to us through the meat.  When they started universally deciding Grain fed beef was a good thing that made them more profit, we lost a nutrient and our teeth health started going downhill, rickets was more prevelant, etc... this is why a DENTIST discovered this fact some 70 or 80 years ago, but wasn't sure which vitamin it was, so it spent a number of years labeled "vitamin X".. There is a good book on it called the Calcium Paradox.. i'll link it later
*Not to be confused with Vitamin K1 which deals more with helping clotting?

there is a ton of data out there for Vit D info, optimum levels, and covid19 has only solidified the opinions that 50ng/ml should be the MINIMUM target level, not the maximum.

The data has been there for a number of years.  We are SLOWLY seeing the recommended daily values increase, but FAR too slowly.  You can safely double them for children, triple them for teens, and x 10 for the oldest, sickest, those with the most comorbidities that affect Vit D, it's absorbtion, immune system problems etc.  just don't forget your K2 !  and your Zinc

And don't forget to share this info!  I care not if you use my blog to share, I am not monetized currently, and I care more that people get information that helps them to stay healthy, and in a cost effective manner that helps the WHOLE system, physically, and economically.
Peace be with you.
